Orlando Pirates are looking to qualify for their sixth final under Jose Riveiro as they take on Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup semi-final.
The Buccaneers host Gallants on Sunday afternoon at the Orlando Stadium. Kick-off is set for 15:00. With the CAF Champions League semi-final coming up later in the week, Pirates might give Monnapule Saleng game time for the first time in over four months. Here’s how Orlando Pirates can lineup against Marumo Gallants
Goalkeeper (Sipho Chaine)
Chaine has been one of the best keepers in the PSL for two seasons running and will surely be the last man in defence for the Buccaneers.
Orlando Pirates to face Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup semi-final
Defenders (Deano van Rooyen, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Paseko Mako)
The back four has produced results for the Buccaneers and Riveiro is more to stick with the winning formula. Orlando Pirates will rely on young Mbokazi to keep a cleensheet having impressed since making his debut.
Midfielders (Makhehlene Makhaula and Thalente Mbatha)
The two are expected to hold the midfield together with the likes of Relebohile Mokokeng and Deon Hotto on the winger. Patrick Maswanganyi could make a rare start playing ahead of Makhaula and Mbatha. Kabelo Dlamini could start ahead of Tito as the ex-SuperSport United is a yellow card away from suspension.
Forward
Evidence Makgopa has not scored a lot of goals, but his contributions have been noted by Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro.
