Here are the official petrol and diesel prices for March 2025 latest
The Department of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has published the official fuel price adjustments that will take effect at midnight on Tuesday, 4 March.

February saw both the global price of petrol decrease and the rand come in stronger relative to January 2025, leading to a marginal over-recovery in prices.
This has translated into a price decrease at the pumps for both petrol and diesel, marking the first drop in the last five months.

| Diesel 0.05% | decrease of 17.5 cents |
| Diesel 0.005% | decrease of 23.5 cents |

FUEL PRICE IN SOUTH AFRICA IMPACTED BY TWO MAIN FACTORS:
1. The international price of petroleum products, driven mainly by oil prices
2. The rand/dollar exchange rate used in the purchase of these products
Oil price
At the time of publishing the brent crude oil price is $70.56 a barrel.
Exchange rate
At the time of publishing the rand/dollar exchange rate is R18.59/$.
South Africa’s motorists are urged to hold off on filling up until the price decreases take effect.
The next fuel price adjustment will take effect from Tuesday, 1 April.
