Manchester United 5-2 Ipswich Town

Manchester United got their first win of the Premier League season after thrashing Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

Ipswich got the breakthrough against the run of play in the 29th minute when Issahaku Fatawu did superbly down the flank to skip past Luke Shaw before picking out Leif Davis, who sent a first-time finish past Senne Lammens.

The Red Devils got back on level terms five minutes before the halftime break when Matheus Cunha won possession and played in Bruno Fernandes, who took one touch before firing into the back of the net.

United completed the turnaround ten minutes after the halftime break when Harry Maguire won the ball and surged forward before seeing his low strike deflected in by Jacob Greaves.

The day belonged to Fernandes, who went on to grab two more goals in the second half to complete his hat-trick while he also bagged a late assists to set up Bryan Mbeumo, bagged the team’s fifth goal in the 83rd minute.

Ipswich were able to get a consolation in stoppage time when Chuba Akpom fired home from close-range after Lisandro Martinez’s error.

Chelsea 4-3 Brighton and Hove Albion

Chelsea maintained their winning start to the Premier League season with a 4-3 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Xabi Alonso’s charges got off to the perfect start when Romeo Lavia opened the scoring after just four minutes.

The lead was doubled in the 14th minute when Pedro Neto opened his account for the campaign after being set up by Morgan Rogers.

Chelsea went on to add a third goal in the 32nd minute when former Brighton star Joao Pedro finished off Hato’s low cross, before Brighton did pull a goal back four minutes later through Malick Yalcouye’s fine strike.

The second half proved to be a crazy affair Palmer got Chelsea’s fourth goal on the day, but they conceded two more through a Joao Pedro own goal and Pascal Gross stoppage-time strike.

Leeds United 1-1 Brentford

Leeds United battled from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

The Bees took the lead four minutes before the halftime break courtesy of a strike from Kevin Schade.

The hosts got their reward with 11 minutes remaining in the contest as Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the back of the net.
