Gov’t maintains fertiliser price at D1,100, subsidizes D1.6B for 2026 farming season

The government of The Gambia has announced that the price of fertilizer will remain at D1,100 per bag for the 2026 rainy season, despite global supply chain disruptions caused by ongoing geopolitical challenges.  

Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Demba Sabally, disclosed during a press briefing that the government has committed a subsidy of D1.6 billion to support farmers and safeguard national food security.
