Government postpones inter-party political dialogue to September 24 — Eye Radio

JUBA, South Sudan — The Inter-Party-Political Dialogue for “Peaceful and Democratic Elections in South Sudan” has been postponed to Thursday, September 24, 2026, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. at the main hall of the Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly.

In an announcement dated September 16, Minister of Cabinet Affairs Martin Elia Lomuro, who also serves as Rapporteur of the Inter-Party Dialogue, said the postponement had been communicated to political parties participating in the process.

“The Inter-Party-Political Dialogue for Peaceful and Democratic Elections has been postponed to Thursday, 24th September 2026 at 10:00 am,” the announcement said.

The ministry said leaders and representatives of parties signatory to the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) had been informed of the new date.

It also notified diplomatic missions, regional and international organizations, as well as the public, faith-based organizations, eminent personalities and civil society organizations.

“The Public, the Faith-based, Eminent Personalities, and Civil Society Organizations are to take note,” the statement said.

The announcement did not provide a reason for the postponement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, members of the Inter-Party-Political Dialogue Body, national and international media houses, and protocol officials were also copied on the announcement.
