Goal-hungry Kaizer Chiefs eye highly-rated Bafana star!

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly reignited their interest in Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana, a player they tried to sign before he opted for Esperance.

The talented attacker has struggled to make the starting eleven this season but has been seen as a super-sub, amassing twenty-five league appearances, during which he has scored three goals and two assists.

In the CAF Champions League, he recorded another five-goal contribution in eight games.

Mayele off the table?

Long-term target Fiston Mayele may be out of reach for Kaizer Chiefs, who will have recently heard of the player receiving bids upwards of R74 million.

“Mayele’s career with Pyramids FC will end at the end of the current season. The player will leave after the Zamalek and Pyramids match in the Egypt Cup final.”

“Mayele has received incredible offers, offers exceeding $3 million (R55 million) and reaching $4 million (R74 million) per season. The player is receiving $1 million per season from Pyramids, but he completely refuses to continue.”

“Pyramids Club, in appreciation of the player and the fact that he is the top scorer in the African Champions League and was one of the reasons the team won the championship,” Egyptian publication Al-Masry Al-Youm revealed.

Another striker on Kaizer Chiefs’ radar is Mamelodi Sundowns man Mamelodi Sundows’, Etiosa Ighodaro.

“Yes, it’s true. Chiefs are believed to have enquired about Mamelodi Sundowns striker Etiosa Ighodaro,” a SoccerLaduma source revealed

“You know the thing is the same people who scouted him from Nigeria for Sundowns are the same who have enquired about him for Kaizer Chiefs.”

“Actually it’s not the first time they have enquired about him. They tried before when he was on loan at Chippa United but Sundowns sent him on loan at SuperSport United. But now they are apparently looking at the possibility of Sundowns letting him go and they can pounce on him.”
