Agadir – Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met in Rabat today with his Gambian counterpart, Sering Modou Njie, who was carrying a written message to King Mohammed VI from Gambian President Adama Barrow.
“Nasser Bourita received, this day in Rabat, his counterpart from the Republic of The Gambia, Sering Modou Njie, bearer of a written Message to King Mohammed VI, from the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Adama Barrow,” Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement.
Njie, who serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, visited Morocco as a special envoy of President Barrow.
During the meeting, the Gambian minister conveyed the “deep gratitude” of President Barrow, the Gambian government, and the Gambian people to King Mohammed VI for what he described as the monarch’s constant support for The Gambia’s socio-economic development.
Speaking to the press, Njie praised King Mohammed VI’s commitment to advancing bilateral relations between the two countries, noting that the partnership has been reinforced through the signing of several agreements and the launch of major projects.

According to the minister, these initiatives have contributed to strengthening cooperation and promoting exchanges between the Moroccan and Gambian peoples.
Njie also emphasized the longstanding bonds of friendship and fraternity linking Morocco and Gambia, stressing the two countries’ shared determination to further deepen their strategic partnership.
He said this commitment reflects the “enlightened vision” of King Mohammed VI and President Adama Barrow to deepen the strategic friendship linking their two countries at various strategic levels.
The Gambian foreign minister further commended the excellent relations between Rabat and Banjul, describing the bilateral partnership as cordial, mutually beneficial, and rooted in the shared values of friendship, fraternity, and solidarity.
He reiterated The Gambia’s firm commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest and expanding collaboration across sectors that contribute to the development of both nations.
During the meeting, Njie presented Bourita with a written message addressed to King Mohammed VI from President Barrow, highlighting the ongoing high-level dialogue between the two countries.
