Flying Eagles Seek Revenge Against Burkina Faso in WAFU B U-20 Final

Flying Eagles head coach Abdu Maikaba says Nigeria’s U-20 team is determined to avenge its group-stage defeat to Burkina Faso when both sides meet in the final of the WAFU B U-20 Championship.

The decisive encounter will be played on Sunday at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro, with kick-off scheduled for 7pm Nigerian time.

Burkina Faso defeated the Flying Eagles 2-0 in the group stage, but Maikaba believes the previous encounter has given his team valuable insight into the Young Stallions.

He says the Nigerian side has identified Burkina Faso’s strengths and weaknesses and will look to exploit them while maintaining its own tactical advantages.

The final also carries an additional prize, as the winner will secure the second qualification ticket from the WAFU B zone for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, alongside Ghana.
