The Federal Commission for Homologation and Discipline of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has taken decisive action following irregularities in recent MTN Elite One matches, particularly those from matchdays 20 and 22.
One of the most talked-about incidents involves the fixture between Stade Renard de Melong and Colombe Sportive du Sud. The game was halted at halftime with Colombe leading 1-0. In a ruling that is halting the crowning of Colombe’s since they have been declared champions of the 2024-2025 Season, the Commission has ordered the match to be replayed. Meanwhile, Stade Renard de Melong has been fined 1 million FCFA for its role in the disruption.
Asides that of Colombe and Stade Renard, the disciplinary body did not stop there. Yong Sports Academy and Aigle Royal du Moungo have each been handed a forfeit loss, a deduction of three points, and a fine of 1 million FCFA. Bamboutos FC also faces serious sanctions, including a forfeited match, a three-point deduction, and two separate fines totaling 1.5 million FCFA.
Additionally, the match between Colombe Sportive and Bamboutos FC will also be rescheduled, adding more tension to an already dramatic season.
In line with these decisions, some matches have already been rescheduled. Notably, Stade Renard de Melong will face AS Fortuna de Mfou on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the Stade de Melong. Kick-off is set for 3:00 PM.
