EU responded to Russia’s recent attacks on Ukraine, asserting that Putin is not committed to achieving peace.

Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, has asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not interested in pursuing peace, particularly following a recent severe assault on Ukrainian cities by Russia over the weekend.

This attack underscores the ongoing conflict and the challenges faced in negotiating a resolution.

Kallas added that “continuous drone and missile strikes from Russia indicate that Putin is not contemplating peace, even as discussions aimed at potentially ending the war are in progress. “

She urged for an increase in military support to Ukraine, warning that without it, the toll on Ukrainian civilians will only escalate.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is working to improve relations with U.S. President Donald Trump after a tense meeting last month.

Zelenskyy expressed his willingness to finalize a beneficial minerals agreement with the U.S., despite the setbacks Ukraine has faced due to the U.S. halting intelligence sharing and weapon supplies.

Recently, North Korean and Russian forces have breached Ukrainian defenses in the Kursk region, which has been under Ukrainian control for several months.
