Erie native Katie Scott is heading back to the international stage.
The Kansas City Current defender has been named to the United States Under-20 Women’s National Team roster for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The 21-player roster was announced August 19, earning Scott another opportunity to represent her country in one of the world’s premier youth soccer tournaments.
The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held in Poland from September 5 until September 27. Team USA opens tournament play against Italy on September 6, as the Americans begin their quest for a world championship.
Scott’s selection adds another impressive chapter to an already accomplished international career. She first represented the United States with the U.S. U-15 National Team before continuing her rise through the national team system.
Among her international achievements, Scott helped the United States capture gold at the U-17 championship level and was part of the squad that earned a bronze medal at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Now, the Fairview High School graduate will have the chance to compete against many of the world’s top young players while wearing the red, white and blue once again.
Scott and Team USA begin their World Cup journey in early September.
Good luck to Katie Scott and Team USA as they compete on soccer’s world stage.
