The wealthiest individual in the world, Elon Musk, has removed a tweet in which he suggested that US President Donald Trump was involved in the unreleased Jeffrey Epstein documents—indicating a potential reduction in the public conflict between these two influential figures.
“It’s time to reveal the really significant information,” Musk posted on Thursday on X, addressing his 220 million followers. “@realDonaldTrump is mentioned in the Epstein files. That is the true reason they have not been disclosed. Have a great day, DJT!”
This remark was made during Musk’s several days of criticism regarding the president’s new spending bill progressing through Congress.
David Schoen, Jeffrey Epstein’s former attorney, responded to the viral tweet. “I was brought on to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer just nine days before he passed away,” Schoen stated on X. “He sought my counsel for months prior to that. I can assert with authority, certainty, and clarity that he possessed no information that could harm President Trump. I specifically inquired about this.”
In February, the Department of Justice published over 100 pages of Epstein’s phone contacts and flight logs connected to sex trafficking allegations. The documents included associations with notable individuals such as Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump, who was known to have socialized with Epstein during the 1990s.
Trump and Epstein were captured in photographs and videos at gatherings during that time. In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, Trump described Epstein as “a terrific guy” who “enjoys beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to state charges of soliciting sex from a minor and received an 18-month prison sentence as part of a contentious plea agreement. Trump allegedly prohibited Epstein from Mar-a-Lago in 2007 following an incident involving a teenage daughter of a club member.
While campaigning in 2024, Trump stated he would advocate for the release of additional Epstein-related documents if he were to be elected president. “I never visited his island, fortunately, but many people did.”
A source knowledgeable about the Musk-Trump conflict remarked, “If Elon genuinely thought Trump was significantly linked to Epstein, why did he spend six months with him and publicly declare that he ‘loves him as much as a straight man can love a straight man’?”
Flight records indicate that Trump was on Epstein’s private jet at least seven times between October 1993 and May 1994. These records were already made public during Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial in 2021.
A second edition of Epstein’s “little black book” is currently up for auction. The auction house reports that five names—including Trump’s—are marked in yellow, all associated with “well-known financial and industrial figures.”
Speculation on the internet persists regarding which of Epstein’s associates may have visited his Caribbean island, Little St. James, where numerous underage girls were reportedly abused. The Justice Department has stated that Epstein exploited over 250 girls across various locations in New York, Florida, and beyond before his arrest in 2019.
He was later discovered dead in a Manhattan detention facility, with the death ruled a suicide.
Musk, who was once a close ally of Trump, stepped down from his position at the Department of Government Efficiency just before reaching the 130-day mark for his status as a special government employee. He had allegedly attempted to arrange a discussion with the president following the online dispute, but the White House confirmed that no call had been arranged.
