Elite One: Panthère and Union draw – MTN Elite One 2013

The match opposing the losers of the round of
32 of the African Cups produced no winner on Saturday during week 8 of the Elite
One at the Stade Municipal de Bangangté, where Panthère Sportive du Ndé and Union
de Douala brought matters to a close on a goalless draw.

The Wild Cats dominated throughout the first

half, only to see les Gamakaï take

possession of the ball after the break.

This makes it a second consecutive draw for Nzuimento

and four clashes without a defeat.  Les Nassaras also conceded their second draw

in a row, but they have not won a game since week 5.

Union are however planning to defend their

championship crown at all costs, as well as win the Cameroon Cup.

“Now that we have been eliminated from the

Champions League, we are going to push our luck as far as we can in the Elite

One and in the Cameroon Cup,” confided central defender Patrick Ngoula.

The match between Canon Sportif de Yaoundé and Unisport

du Haut-Nkam was postponed until Monday due to the delayed return of Kpa Kum to the political capital.  But whatever comes to pass in the Mfandena

Basin, Le Flambeau de l’ouest will not be joining Les Astres de

Douala at the head of the league standings.

After beating Coton Sport at the Stade de la

Réunification, Les Brésiliens de Bépanda have provisionally relegated Unisport

to four points.
