Elite One : Fecafoot fines Valentine Nkwain heavily

The Cameroon Football Federation’s homologation and disciplinary committee has suspended Valentine Nkwain for the remainder of the championship and fined him ten million CFA francs, CFOOT reports. According to the publication on 28 February 2025, the sanction was imposed following the chairman’s alleged inappropriate behaviour towards the referees after Victoria United’s match against Dynamo Douala. This punishment comes as he faces an ongoing legal case for kidnapping and bodily harm adding to the growing controversies surrounding him.

Victoria United’s chairman had threatened referee Beboule Amayene, the central referee for the Opopo – Dynamo de Douala match at Middle Farm Stadium. After the 1-1 draw, Nkwain stormed onto the pitch, threatening the match’s referee accusing Beboule Amayene of been biased.

Since the incident, Cameroonian football observers have been urging Federation to take firm action against Valentine Nkwain. According to CFOOT, the Fecafoot homologation and disciplinary committee has now responded with this severe penalty on the club president.
