Eben Etzebeth: Big update on injury!

Eben Etzebeth has only just returned to action after an injury niggle and concussion issue had forced him onto the sidelines for the majority of the year.

The Springboks will have been monitoring his fitness and form closely as the 2025 season looms on the horizon, and there would have been real concern when he had to leave the field on a golf cart in the 27th minute of the Sharks’ 29-10 win against the Ospreys at Kings Park on Friday night.

After the game Etzebeth could be seen on crutches, but the good news is that the injury does not appear to be too serious.

“Eben is OK,” Plumtree told IOL. “I am not sure if he will make it this weekend (against Scarlets), we will see later in the week, but he is looking better and he should be fine going forward.”

The Sharks are set for a home playoff match, but if other results go in their favour, they could even finish the league phase in third place with a win over Scarlets.
