Kinshasa, July 6 (SANA) The Democratic Republic of the Congo reported on Monday that the number of confirmed Ebola cases in the country had risen to 1,561, according to the latest official figures.
Reuters quoted the government as saying in a statement that the outbreak has claimed 506 lives among the confirmed cases.
The latest figures compare with 1,502 confirmed infections and 473 deaths reported by the authorities on Saturday, indicating a continued rise in both infections and fatalities.
Health authorities continue to monitor the outbreak and implement response measures aimed at containing the spread of the virus.
