Following the unveiling of its Adol 14 Air Fragrance Edition laptop, featuring a built-in oil diffuser, Asus has announced the “Fragrance Mouse,” a peripheral designed to complement the aromatic computing experience. The mouse, showcased alongside Asus’s Copilot Plus PCs at CES 2025, is slated for release in the US around late April or early May, according to an Asus spokesperson.

The Fragrance Mouse maintains a standard two-button and scroll wheel configuration. Its unique feature lies on the underside, where a small, refillable compartment allows users to infuse the air with their preferred essential oils. Functionality-wise, the mouse operates wirelessly via Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz USB dongle, offers adjustable DPI settings (1200dpi, 1600dpi, and 2400dpi), and is powered by a single AA battery. Asus will offer the mouse in “distinctive Iridescent White or Rose Clay finishes.”

However, creating a complete fragrance-themed desktop setup might prove challenging. The Adol 14 Air Fragrance Edition laptop, the mouse’s intended companion, has only been released in China since its initial announcement in July 2024. This limited availability suggests that a cohesive aromatic computing ecosystem may not be readily accessible to consumers outside of China.
