Assemblies of God Leadership holds capacity building conference for pastors in The Gambia
The visiting Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God, Ghana led by the General Superintendent, Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam has held two capacity building events for pastors and leaders in The Gambia.
The first conference was organised for pastors affiliated with the Assemblies of God Mission in The Gambia, while the second was a non-denominational pastors and leaders conference which attracted about 250 pastors and leaders from various Christian denominations, inluding the USA Assemblies of God Missionaries.
The conference foused on key leadership and spiritual development themes, including Servant Leadership, the Power of Unity, the Essence of Audacious Faith in Achieving the Leader’s Vision and the Role of Prayer in Transformation Leadership.
The speakers were Rev Wengam, the General Superintendent, of Assemblies of God, Ghana, General Secretary, Rev Ernest Birikoran, and the General Treasurer, Rev Simon Abu Baba.
As part of his tradition in strengthening relationships and showing appreciation during his Apostolic Visits, Rev Wengam presented gifts to the pastors and their spouses who participated in the conferences. The men received Ghanaian smock (fugu), while the women had pieces of cloth each. The gifts were sponsored by Rev Wengham and his wife, Mrs Monica Wengam.
The conference host, Rev Paul Ampofo Williams who is also the National Head of The Gambian Assemblies of God Mission, said the impact of the conference and the gifts to the pastors and their wives were unprecedented.
These, he said, have inspired and motivated them to do more for the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
The Gambia Assemblies of God is the first mission field by the Assemblies of God, Ghana. The church in that country was established under the leadership of the late General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Simon Asore about 30 years ago.
