Angolan Delfim Luwawu Signs for Burnley FC

Luanda — Burnley FC of England officially on Thursday signed the Angolan footballer, Delfim Luwawu, for a four-year contract.

The information was shared on the English club’s Facebook social media page, without disclosing the transfer fee.

At 18 years of age, the player, who comes from the Football Academy of Angola (AFA), is expected to join the U-21 team, a stage that will mark the beginning of his adaptation to English football and his development within the club’s structure.

A native of Luanda, the athlete progressed through various age groups at AFA and is an asset to the U-17 national team, where he represented the country at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco.

“Signing a contract with Burnley is a moment of happiness for me, and I always knew this moment could arrive, but not this quickly,” Luwawu told the club’s TV channel.

“It is going to be a good challenge for me, and I want to help the club achieve its goals. I was very well received by the coaching staff, so I already feel at home,” he added. IN/WR/CF/jmc
