Aiyedatiwa, others to support Abuja barber’s Guinness World Record attempt

The Guinness World Records 154-hour-longest premium haircuts attempt by Nigerian barber Joshua Aiyeniro, popularly known as T-Jos, is set to culminate in a grand finale at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, five ministers, and President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, are among the high-profile dignitaries expected to attend the closing ceremony of the countdown.

As of Monday, T-Jos had reached an impressive 125 hours into his record-breaking attempt, with only 29 hours left to achieve his goal.

The countdown to the final stretch will begin at 4 pm on Tuesday. The event aims to promote skill acquisition among African youth and catapult T-Jos to global recognition.
The African Civil Society Forum (AFRICSOF) is collaborating with T-Jos Signature to drive this continental vision, seeking to stimulate a skills revolution among young people in Africa.

With Africa having a meagre representation in the Guinness World Records, this event is seen as a strategic move to change the narrative and inspire a new generation of African youth to pursue excellence in their chosen fields.

The attendance of these prominent dignitaries underscores the significance of T-Jos’ achievement and its potential impact on the nation’s youth.

The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of determination, skill, and Nigerian excellence.
