AICU’s Sierra Leone ‘Fire Crusade’ draws youths, records massive success

The American International Christian University (AICU) has recorded what organisers described as a massive success following its latest World Youth Conference, held in Kono District, Sierra Leone.

The conference, tagged ‘Kono Youth Fire Crusade,’ was themed ‘Supernatural Outpouring That Breaks Yokes.’  It marked the third edition of AICU’s annual Christian youth-focused programme aimed at reigniting faith and encouraging young people to deepen their commitment to Christ.

The Sierra Leone event followed earlier editions held in the United States in 2024 and Nigeria in 2025, where the programme was organised across three major campuses.

The Kono crusade attracted a large number of youths and focused on salvation, spiritual renewal, purpose discovery and active participation in the Great Commission.

Speaking at the event, AICU Founder and President, Pastor Akinsola Ojo Kings, said the crusade was designed to provide young people with an opportunity to discover their purpose, seek truth and develop genuine spirituality.

“The time has come for a global community of Christian youths to take their place in life and positively influence society,” he said.

The programme also featured the Global Campus Reignition Interview, an initiative aimed at identifying talented, Christ-driven youths who are already making an impact in Christian ministry.

In a keynote address titled ‘Equipping the Saints,’ Dr Kings highlighted the importance of preparing young Christians with the right character, spiritual authority, armour and compassion for souls.

He said the crusade was uniquely designed to equip youths to become more effective in their Christian walk and societal influence.

The second day of the programme was dedicated to ministers of God, with Dr Kings stressing that effective ministry requires adequate spiritual and practical preparation before ministers begin propagating the Word.

According to him, God is raising ministers who are equipped by the Word, empowered by the Spirit, sustained by prayer, grounded in character, operating in authority, fortified by spiritual armour and driven by compassion.

He further described the shortage of gifted and faithful stewards as a major tragedy in Christendom, saying the challenge could be addressed through genuine consecration and accountability to God.

The Sierra Leone crusade ended with renewed calls for Christian youths and ministers to embrace their spiritual responsibilities and become active instruments for positive transformation in society.
