The Uganda Cubs produced a commanding performance to brush aside DR Congo 3-0 in their opening match of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Uganda started the encounter with discipline and composure, frustrating DR Congo in the early exchanges while showing confidence on the ball. Their persistence eventually paid off in the 37th minute when Owen Mukisa rose highest inside the penalty area to power home a brilliant header and hand the Cubs a deserved lead.

DR Congo attempted to respond in the second half, but the Cubs remained disciplined defensively while continuing to threaten on the counterattack.

Their dominance was sealed in the 81st minute when AbdulShakur Babi added the third goal of the evening, calmly finishing to cap a memorable outing for Uganda.

The final whistle confirmed a stunning 3-0 victory for the Uganda Cubs, who announced themselves in style with a captivating opening performance at the AFCON U-17 tournament in Morocco.
