Guinea Explores Satellite Technology Partnership with OpenCosmos to Boost Digital Connectivity

The discussions focused on the company’s capabilities in satellite manufacturing and deployment, as well as their potential applications in improving connectivity and enabling data collection.

The Ministère des Postes, Télécommunications et de l’Economie Numérique,  in collaboration with the Ministère de l’Information et de la Communication Guinée,  held discussions with representatives from OpenCosmos  to explore the role of satellite technologies in advancing the country’s digital transformation.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Souleymane Thianguel Bah received OpenCosmos Business Development Manager Abou Bakr Mourched, alongside Director-General of Innovation Aminata Deen Touré. The discussions focused on the company’s capabilities in satellite manufacturing and deployment, as well as their potential applications in improving connectivity and enabling data collection.

Officials highlighted the importance of satellite-based solutions in expanding digital coverage, particularly in underserved and remote regions. The talks also emphasized the need to align such technologies with Guinea’s broader digital development programs to enhance national infrastructure and service delivery.

The engagement identified potential areas for collaboration, supporting Guinea’s ambition to strengthen innovation and achieve more inclusive access to digital services across the country.
