Rabat – Panathinaikos has officially secured Moroccan defender Anass Salah-Eddine on a season-long loan from AS Roma.
The Greek side finalized the move on Monday, adding the international player to their squad ahead of the new campaign.
The agreement gives Panathinaikos the choice to sign the Moroccan international permanently once his loan finishes.
Rather than forcing a mandatory purchase, the deal lets the Greek team evaluate his performance over the course of the season before making a final decision on his long-term future.
After arriving in Athens over the weekend, Salah-Eddine cleared his medical checks and watched his new team defeat Panetolikos from the stands at the OAKA stadium.
With the paperwork officially wrapped up, the Moroccan left-back can shift his focus entirely to getting onto the pitch and making his debut for the Greek side.
The 24-year-old player has been handed the number 5 shirt at Panathinaikos as he begins this new chapter.
The Moroccan defender aims to break into the starting lineup right away and use his top-level experience to help drive the team forward.
The move follows a productive season on loan with PSV Eindhoven, where the defender logged 24 appearances across domestic league action and the Champions League.
After completing his temporary spell in the Netherlands, he briefly returned to parent club AS Roma before securing his fresh start in Greece.
Having built his career across the Dutch Eredivisie and Italian Serie A, this transfer marks the defender’s first venture into Greek football.
Joining Panathinaikos gives Salah-Eddine the chance to expand his European resume and adapt his game to a new league.
