Nestlé Adds Locally Made Powders to Cameroon’s Seasoning Market

Nestlé Cameroon has introduced three locally manufactured MAGGI powdered seasonings, expanding its product range in the country with sachets priced at CFAF 100 for a pack of three. The products were officially launched on August 27, 2026, at the company’s factory in Douala, in the presence of consumer association leaders and journalists. They are available through traditional retail outlets across Cameroon.

The launch adds an 8-gram powdered format to Nestlé’s seasoning portfolio. Unlike conventional seasoning cubes, the powder allows consumers to adjust the quantity used according to their recipes and preferences. The range comprises MAGGI Cube Seasoning Powder, MAGGI Spice Flavor and MAGGI Chili and Garlic Flavor. The first product is intended for everyday dishes, including tomato sauce, groundnut sauce and poulet DG. It combines onion, beef, pepper and chili flavors and contains iodized salt.

MAGGI Spice Flavor contains clove, chili, long pepper, pèbè, black pepper and garlic. It is intended for grilled and stir-fried dishes. The Chili and Garlic variant combines chili and garlic and is positioned for marinades, sauces, soups and other preparations.

The new products are manufactured at Nestlé Cameroon’s Douala factory, according to Arouna Koara, the company’s Culinary Category Manager for Central Africa. Their introduction expands the number of locally produced seasonings distributed through Cameroon’s formal and informal retail networks.

The CFAF 100 recommended retail price gives consumers access to the seasonings in a small-format package. Each sachet is recommended for a meal serving three people. The products are also being distributed through traditional retail channels, including markets and neighborhood shops. Nestlé said in June 2026 that more than 70,000 women food vendors operate across Central and West Africa and account for the majority of MAGGI sales in the region.

The powdered range adds another product line to Nestlé’s traditional retail network. Nestlé is distributing the products through traditional sales channels rather than limiting them to supermarkets.

Aboubacar Coulibaly, head of Nestlé Cameroon, said the launch formed part of the company’s response to changing culinary habits and consumer demand. MAGGI has operated in Cameroon for more than 40 years. Factory Manager Adedayo Odufuwa said the company applies quality and food-safety controls from the sourcing of raw materials to factory processing and distribution. Consumer representatives and journalists attending the launch visited the production facility and received information about the company’s testing and quality-control procedures.
