Prime Minister Andrew Holness is urging the Jamaican electorate to assess his administration’s years of success when choosing their next government.
He was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Lancewood Pipeline Extension project in Exchange, St. Ann.
Mahiri Stewart has that story.
Jamaicans will go to the polls next year when the general elections are due.
According to the Prime Minister, Jamaican voters must begin to critically examine the government’s efforts in managing the affairs of the country.
The Prime Minister’s honesty has come under fire recently following the Integrity Commission’s report into his statutory declarations.
The matter has ignited a row between the two major parties, with the opposition PNP calling for Holness to resign.
The recent Nationwide Bluedot poll, which found that a small majority of Jamaicans, 51-percent, believe Prime Minister Holness is leading an extremely corrupt government has added fuel to the controversy.
Corruption is ranked as the second most important concern of Jamaicans in these polls.
But, Prime Minister Holness asserts that his administration has done more for the Jamaican people than any other previous government.
Mr. Holness says his tenure as Prime Minister is incomparable to others.
