NPFL: Tornadoes Sign Five Players As Rebuild Begins

Niger Tornadoes have unveiled five new signings ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, headlined by the acquisition of midfielder Moses Ibrahim Amatsaka from El-Kanemi Warriors.

The Ikon Allah Boys confirmed the arrivals via their official X account. Amatsaka, a key target in the club’s summer recruitment drive, is expected to bring top-flight experience to the Minna-based outfit.

Joining Amatsaka are four homegrown prospects—Alhassan Mohammad, Abba Yahaya, Badejo Mikel, and Joseph Bulus—all promoted from local academies within Niger State as part of the club’s youth-driven policy.

The flurry of incoming players comes amid a significant squad overhaul, following the departure of several first-team regulars to rival NPFL clubs.

Tornadoes narrowly avoided the drop to the Nigeria National League last season, securing their top-flight status only on the final matchday.

Head coach Majin Mohammed is now tasked with integrating the new faces quickly, as the team looks to improve on last term’s precarious finish.

The club’s management has stressed that the signings are the first phase of a broader restructuring aimed at stabilizing the team and avoiding another relegation battle.
