Sébastien Migné named Gabon head coach a day after leaving Haiti

Sébastien Migné has been appointed Gabon head coach, the federation announced on Wednesday, barely a day after he left the Haiti job.

The 53-year-old Frenchman takes charge of the national side, with the length of his deal not disclosed.

It is his fourth African national team as head coach, after Congo, Kenya and Equatorial Guinea, and his seventh if assistant posts with DR Congo, Congo, Togo and Cameroon are included.

Migné departed Haiti on Tuesday evening by mutual consent. Appointed in March 2024, he guided Haiti to their second World Cup, the first since 1974.

At the 2026 finals, Haiti lost all three group matches, against Scotland 0-1, Brazil 0-3 and Morocco 2-4, and finished fourth in Group C.
