Senegal Inflation Rate at 5-Month Low of 0.4% — TradingView News

The annual inflation rate in Senegal slowed to 0.4% in June 2026 from 1.3% in May, marking the softest increase since January.

The moderation was driven by a decline in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices, the largest component of the CPI basket, which fell for the first time in five months (-0.2% vs 1.0% in May).

Prices also declined for housing and utilities (-0.6% vs 1.9%) and transport (-0.6% vs 0.9%).

These declines were partially offset by stronger price increases for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (12.0% vs 10.9%), health (1.6% vs 1.3%), recreation and culture (0.8% vs 1.1%), and clothing and footwear (1.1% vs 1.4%).

On a monthly basis, the CPI was unchanged after rising 0.2% in the previous month.
