Loud Room is home for Afro House culture in Benin City – De Cave

The organisers of Loud Room, De Cave Management, have said the platform is redefining alternative nightlife in Southern Nigeria by creating a dedicated space for Afro House music, electronic dance culture and creative expression in Benin City.

Adrian Samuel, President of De Cave Management, said Loud Room was established to fill a gap in the region’s nightlife by offering immersive experiences that go beyond conventional entertainment and celebrate music, art, fashion and community.

According to Adrian, while Afro House and electronic dance music have continued to gain global recognition and influence dance floors across Africa, opportunities to experience the culture in an intentional and authentic way have remained limited in many parts of Southern Nigeria.

“Loud Room was created to give Afro House culture a home in Benin City. We are building more than a nightlife event; we are creating a cultural movement where music, art, fashion and community come together to give people the freedom to express themselves authentically,” Adrian said.

He explained that the platform caters to creatives, music lovers, dancers and cultural enthusiasts seeking experiences beyond the traditional nightlife scene.

According to the President of De Cave Management, every edition of Loud Room is carefully curated to ensure that music remains the central experience while audiences become active participants in a broader cultural narrative.

“Every detail, from our branding and visual identity to music programming, storytelling and audience experience, is intentional. Our goal is not simply to organise another event but to build a lasting culture that inspires creativity, inclusivity and genuine human connection,” Adrian added.

He noted that unlike conventional nightlife experiences that focus primarily on entertainment, Loud Room is driven by purpose and seeks to foster an environment where individuality is celebrated without judgment.

Adrian expressed confidence that the initiative would continue to strengthen Benin City’s creative ecosystem while contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s underground electronic music movement.

He said Loud Room is laying the foundation for an inclusive community where Afro House culture can thrive, creativity is encouraged and people are free to connect through music and shared experiences.
