Masandawana and JVW FC Set the Super League Pace in KwaMhlanga

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC and JVW FC set the standard with emphatic victories as the opening two days of the Hollywoodbets Super League Week 4 Festival produced 16 goals across five matches at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, on Friday, 3 July and Saturday, 4 July 2026.

The Week 4 Festival brings the country’s top flight of women’s club football to Mpumalanga, with the Super Era and Super Rise streams sharing the KwaMhlanga stage across three days of action.

Friday’s Super Era curtain-raiser proved the tightest contest of the weekend so far, with Copperbelt Ladies FC edging the University of Pretoria 1-0. Hlulani Manganyi settled a tense encounter with the only goal in the 47th minute, and her strike carried extra significance for a side that had not beaten the Pretoria students since February 2023, with the head-to-head record still favouring the university outfit.

The evening Super Rise fixture was an altogether more one-sided affair as JVW FC put six past First Touch FC Ladies in a 6-1 rout. Nompumelelo Nyandeni opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Julia Goncalves doubled the advantage on 20 minutes.

Jeanet Fisher pulled one back for First Touch FC Ladies two minutes later, but the response only sparked a JVW FC surge, with Bonolo Mokoma and Gabriela Salgado striking in the 32nd and 35th minutes and Goncalves converting a penalty in the 44th to make it 5-1 at the break. Mokoma completed her brace in the 67th minute to round off a ruthless display that stretched JVW FC’s dominance of a fixture they have now won nine times in 11 meetings.

Saturday’s programme began with Ezemvelo Women’s FC collecting the points in the early Super Rise fixture, awarded 2-0 after the University of Fort Hare did not take the field. The result moves the KwaZulu-Natal side 2-1 ahead in the head-to-head between the clubs.

The midday Super Rise contest delivered the drama of the weekend, with Tshwane University of Technology holding off Ramatlaohle Ladies FC 2-1 in the first meeting between the sides. Captain Ester Ndou fired the students ahead in the 24th minute, and Ramatlaohle Ladies FC struck back deep into first-half stoppage time through Noko Matlou. Nombuso Malesa restored the lead in the 54th minute and Tshwane University of Technology stood firm through a tense finish to claim all three points.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC closed the day in commanding fashion, sweeping aside the University of the Western Cape 4-0 in the Super Era. Isabella Ludwig gave her side an early lead in the 11th minute and doubled her tally six minutes into the second half. Noxolo Cesane added the third in the 71st minute before substitute Nthabiseng Majiya completed the scoring in the 79th, in a result that emphasised the Tshwane giants’ long-standing hold over the Cape students.
