Turkish opposition MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) has called for the prosecution of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, allegedly accusing him of concealing documents from the public related to the investigation into the crash of the aircraft carrying former Tripoli Chief of Staff Mohamed Al-Haddad and his accompanying delegation.
In a post on his X account, Yavuzyılmaz said he had published documents that he claims reveal shortcomings in safety procedures at Esenboğa Airport in Ankara. He also alleged that the documents contain information indicating that an Israeli aircraft was present at the airport at the same time as the Libyan aircraft before its departure.
According to the MP, the documents indicate that the Israeli aircraft departed Esenboğa Airport bound for Tel Aviv and had been parked at the same stand as the Libyan aircraft for one hour and forty-one minutes, which he claimed was inconsistent with international aviation regulations.
Yavuzyılmaz further alleged that the documents show the Libyan aircraft suffered the sudden failure of three electrical power generators shortly after takeoff, which, according to his claims, led to the crash. He called for the full findings of the investigation to be made public and for those responsible for concealing information to be held accountable.
The aircraft carrying former Chief of Staff Mohamed Al-Haddad crashed in December 2025 after suffering an electrical failure shortly after taking off from Esenboğa Airport in Ankara. The crew issued a distress call before the aircraft crashed near Haymana, killing everyone on board.
