In a follow-up on the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Ministry of Health reported 54 additional confirmed Ebola cases on July 1, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 1,460, including 447 deaths, for an overall case fatality rate of 30.6%.
A total of 595 patients are currently in isolation or hospitalized, while 213 people have recovered. The contact tracing rate has reached 82.7% in the three affected provinces.
36 health zones have been affected across the three provinces of Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu.
According to the government, epidemiological surveillance remains fully operational with a continued capacity for detection, investigation, and monitoring in the affected areas.

Furthermore, treatment continues to show encouraging results. Twenty-one patients have been declared cured after obtaining negative results in follow-up tests, including 19 in Ituri and 2 in North Kivu, illustrating the progress made in the clinical care of patients.
