Unahotels Reggio Emilia (Serie A) re-signed 24-year old South Sudanese ex-international 206cm forward JT Thor (college: Auburn) for the new season. He played there last season. In 23 Serie A games, he averaged 8.8ppg, 4.6rpg, and 1.2bpg. He also played 9 games in FIBA Europe Cup, where he had 5.3ppg, 4.2rpg, and 1.2bpg. Thor helped them to make it to the quarterfinals. The previous (2024-25) season, he played for the Wizards in the NBA. He also briefly played for Go Go in the NBA G League, the Cavaliers in the NBA, and Charge in the NBA G League.
In 2021, he was drafted by the Detroit Pistons (NBA) in the second round (37th overall). He attended Auburn University, and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
Thor also represented South Sudan at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 6.7 points per game and had 4.7 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Thor has played professionally between other USA teams, NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets), NBA G League (Cleveland Charge and Greensboro Swarm) and NBA Summer League (Charlotte Hornets).
He was voted to MaxPreps Sophomore All-Americans Honorable Mention back in 2019 during high school.
