World Cup 2026: Morocco to Face the Netherlands in Round of 32

Rabat – Morocco will face the Netherlands in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the conclusion of Group F, where the Dutch secured first place to book a meeting with the Atlas Lions.

The Moroccan national team confirmed its place in the knockout stage on Wednesday after defeating Haiti 4-2 in its final Group C match.

The victory saw Morocco finish the group with seven points, level with Brazil. However, the Seleção claimed top spot on goal difference, leaving the Atlas Lions to advance as Group C runners-up.

With their qualification already secured, Morocco awaited the outcome of Group F to discover their opponents in the Round of 32.

Following the final Group F fixtures, the Netherlands finished at the top of the standings after defeating Tunisia 3 -1, setting up a highly anticipated knockout encounter with Morocco.

Mohammed Ouahbi’s side enjoyed an impressive group-stage campaign, remaining unbeaten throughout the opening phase of the tournament. Morocco opened with a draw against Brazil, 1-1, before recording victories over Scotland, 1-0, and Haiti, 4-2, to collect seven points from three matches.

The Atlas Lions also impressed at both ends of the pitch, scoring six goals while displaying defensive solidity against high-quality opposition. Their performances have reinforced the belief that the team can make another deep run at the World Cup.
