Libyan youth join Arab talks on social media’s impact in Rabat

Libyan youth delegates have taken part in the first Arab meeting on the impact of social media on young people, held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

The delegation joined participants from across the Arab world under the “Our Youth, Our Ambassadors” initiative, alongside government officials, experts and academics.

The two-day event, organised by Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in partnership with the Arab League, focused on how social media is reshaping the lives of young people in the region.

Discussions explored how digital platforms can be used to support development and raise social awareness, while also addressing challenges such as misinformation, hate speech and online polarisation.
Participants also examined ways to promote safer and more responsible use of social media among young people.
