Speaker of the House of Representatives, Juliet Holness, is urging the parliament to set its own standards rather than rely on outside voices for its operations.
The House Speaker was responding to queries regarding the Attorney General’s legal opinion on the process for tabling reports from the Auditor General.
Mrs. Holness was speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
Questions arose during the tenure of former House Speaker, Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert, as to the proper process for managing reports from the Auditor General and Integrity Commission.
The opinion of the Attorney General was sought on the matter but has not yet come in regarding reports from the Auditor General.
Mrs. Holness says she will have deliberations with the parliamentary staff and the President of the Senate as to the way forward.

Meanwhile, Opposition Member of Parliament, Julian Robinson, told the House Speaker that the protracted delay regarding the Attorney General’s legal opinion on the process for tabling reports from the Auditor General is merely fueling speculation about what’s contained in the document.
Mr. Robinson insists that the ruling must be shared with the House of Representatives.
