Goals Galore and Statement Wins in Week 12 of the Hollywoodbets Super League

Week 12 of the Hollywoodbets Super League delivered fireworks, with 25 goals scored across an action-packed weekend at venues across the nation on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May, 2025.

One of the standout teams this season, TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies, continued their impressive run with a dominant 5-0 home win over UCT FC. Tshogofatso Motlogelwa was in unstoppable form, netting four goals, while Mamokgaase Senyatsi added a late fifth.

TUT remain second on the log, and firmly in the title conversation.

At Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal, TS Galaxy Queens ran riot with an 8-0 demolition of Durban Ladies. Nicole Michael and Leandra Smeda each bagged a brace, powering Sizwe Sibiya’s side to their biggest win of the season.

Michael now leads the league’s scoring chart with five goals.

The Durbanites are now at the bottom of the log standings with 0 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses, a worrying factor if they aim to stay in top-flight football.

Elsewhere, several title contenders were held to draws. UWC and JVW could not be separated in the first half, but Ronnel Donnelly opened the scoring in the 50th minute before Jessica Wade could equalise for the Bedfordview outfit.

The clash between the University of Johannesburg and Copperbelt Ladies also ended in a 1-all stalemate, UJ’s Thato Mofolo’s 67’ conversion cancelling the 40-minute goal by Thandi Rameri.

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their unbeaten run with a professional 2-0 win over First Touch Ladies at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Last year’s Golden Boot winner, Boitumelo Rabale, opened the scoring in the 27th minute, and Melinda Kgadiete sealed the result with a late goal in stoppage time.

Reflecting on the win, goalkeeper Sedilame Bosija said: “Congratulations to the team for the three points and a clean sheet. It wasn’t an easy game, especially playing away, but we created a lot of chances. It’s just one of those days where we couldn’t convert more.”

In the Eastern Cape derby, University of Fort Hare and City Lads settled for a goalless draw.

The weekend wrapped up with a five-goal thriller between the University of Pretoria and Royal AM. The Durban-based side, featuring a youthful and relatively inexperienced squad, secured their first win of the season. AmaTuks fought back with goals in the 87th and 91st minutes, but it was too little, too late as Thwihli Thwahla’s early dominance sealed the result.
