Nasreddine Nabi breaks silence on shock exit news

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has broken his silence following swirling rumours about his potential departure from the club. After guiding Amakhosi to a long-awaited victory in the Nedbank Cup final against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, some reports speculated his time at Naturena may end sooner than expected.

But Nabi, fresh off delivering Chiefs’ first trophy in a decade, made it crystal clear, he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Nabi responds to speculation

Speaking on Radio947 with Robert Marawa, Nabi directly addressed the speculation, sitting alongside Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr.

“I’m very surprised about these rumours and notions because I’m very concentrated for the remaining two games that are coming,” said Nabi as quoted by iDiski Times.

“We are very concentrated for the remaining two games, because it’s very important to finish in the top 8.”

The Tunisian tactician emphasized his focus remains on ending the DStv Premiership campaign on a high note. Despite the Sunday Times report claiming he will leave by the end of the 2024/2025 season, Nabi insists he still has a mission to complete.

Coach focused on Top 8 finish and commitment

Rather than feeding the rumour mill, Nabi doubled down on his loyalty to the club and commitment to its goals.

“I don’t want to lose the momentum that the cup has created and still have a contract and I’m not worried about that.”

“I don’t think it’s the best moment to talk about that.”

“Kaizer Chiefs is my family. I have a mission and responsibility, today I want to enjoy the success.”

What’s next for Chiefs?

With two crucial league matches remaining, Nabi aims to secure a top 8 finish and build on the momentum of the Nedbank Cup triumph. His strong message signals stability at the helm, even as media whispers continue in the background.
