Children’s Advocate Diahann Gordon-Harrison is appealing to members of the public who have information on the killing of children to come forward so that cases can be properly tried.
Mrs Gordon-Harrison made the appeal during an interview with Nationwide News against the background of the killing of a six year old in Duhaney Park St. Andrew on Saturday.
The child was reportedly in his father’s car when a group of men travelling in a White Toyota Probox cornered the vehicle that they were in.
The father managed to elude the men before they fired several shots in the direction of the motorcar.
The child was later discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Children’s Advocate is strongly urging residents to come forward with information on this and other killings.

Meanwhile, the Children’s Advocate has described as “internal terrorists” persons who are behind the recent spate of killings that has rocked the nation.
According to Mrs Gordon-Harrison, Jamaica’s goal as the country to live, raise families and do business is now under severe threat given the recent vicious attacks, especially those that involve children.
She noted that the country’s reputation on the international stage is now being severely battered.
