Why I don’t like seeing my family anymore – Peller

Popular Nigerian TikToker and content creator, Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has said he no longer enjoys seeing his family due to the pressure of being their breadwinner at just 19.

He made this known during a live chat with fellow TikTok personality, Sandra Benede, where he talked about the emotional weight of carrying responsibilities far beyond his age.

According to Peller, despite having parents and older siblings, he has become the main provider for the entire household — a reality that has changed how he feels about his own family.

He said, “I don’t like seeing my family anymore. I just send them things to make sure they are okay. I don’t like to see them again because my mentality is higher than living with my parents. My mentality now is higher than theirs. It feels like I’m their parent even though I have an elder brother.”

The young content creator, who has built a growing online fan base through TikTok Videos, revealed that the stress has taken a toll on his mental health and rest.

In his words, “I’m not feeling okay. The other day, I slept off in my car till the next morning. I don’t like what I am facing in this young age. I’m not even up to 20 years. It is not fair.”

He also mentioned that he often feels like running away from everything, but holds back so his family won’t worry.
He added, “Sometimes, I feel like running away to hide somewhere in America and go offline. I have been meaning to do it but I don’t want them to be worried.”

Although Peller said he still supports his family financially and keeps in touch through phone calls, he confessed that the bond he once felt, especially with his mother, has faded.

“Before I used to miss my mum whenever I travelled as a child. But right now, I don’t miss any of my family members anymore. The only person I will miss is Jarvis.”
