Tanzanian public servants in the Ministry of Water urged to enhance efforts in strengthening community services.

The Minister of Water, Mr. Jumaa Aweso, has urged the staff of the Ministry of Water to ‘work harder ‘ and apply their skills while following the laws, regulations, and procedures of public service. 

He emphasized that dedication among the Ministry’s employees is the key to success and progress in the water sector of the country, highlighting that hard work and teamwork lead to better results within the organization. 

Mr. Aweso shared these thoughts during a meeting with members of the Workers’ Council, which had the theme ‘The Workers’ Council is an Important Tool for Fostering Good Relationships at Work, Let’s Collaborate to Relieve Women of the Burden of Carrying Water on Their Heads,’ stressing the importance of unity and cooperation through this council. 

He encouraged the Ministry’s staff to work with passion and kindness, support one another, and speak positively to each other.

He warned against engaging in betrayal and conflict, as it would hinder their work performance and make it difficult to achieve the organization’s goals. ‘I believe that when employees are in a good work environment, they will perform well. 

Therefore, as leaders of the Ministry of Water, we will continue to strengthen and improve the working conditions for the advancement of the water sector,’ Minister Aweso stated. 

Additionally, he called on the leaders of the Workers’ Council to prioritize the rights and welfare of the staff, as they are the main resource for the organization in achieving its objectives. 

Also , the Secretary-General and Chairperson of the Workers’ Council, Engineer Mwajuma Waziri, thanked all the workers in the water sector for their excellent performance in successfully implementing the budget for the year 2024/25 while stressing “unity ” as an important factor in development of the nation .
