Anele Mdoda and Bonelela Buzza James – formally known as Prince Bonelela Ngubengcuka ka Mgudlwa – have officially become one following a stunning union over the weekend.
The Xhosa ceremony – known as Ukwamkelwa kwabakwenyana – is a celebration of two families concluding lobola negotiations. It precedes the traditional and civil ceremonies.
ANELE MDODA AND ROYAL HUSBAND CELEBRATE LOBOLA NEGOTIATIONS?
In a press statement, Anele Mdoda confirmed her union with Bonelela Buzza James, a Xhosa Prince from the AmaThemba tribe.
The couple celebrated their successful labola negotiations surrounded by friends and family at a beautiful location.
Celebrity pal and family spokesperson Sizwe Dhlomo said: ‘We wish these two incredible people an eternal union, filled with love and fulfillment. We look forward to the next phase of their ceremonies, as this was just the initial step.
“In African culture, we know a groom never really concludes lobola, but we are pleased that the Mgudlwa Royal House of the Abathembu Kingdom have honoured ooHlathi in bringing these two together, in this dignified traditional process”.
According to Anele Mdoda, it was important that the ceremony reflected their “shared similar values, steeped in tradition”.
‘SHE’S MY HEART’
In an Instagram post, Bonelela Buzza James gushed over his bride-to-be, Anele Mdoda.
In a poetic caption, he hailed the media personality for both her inward and outward beauty.
“She’s my heart”, he posted.
WHEN IS THE WEDDING?
Although Anele Mdoda and her partner have vowed to keep their relationship and upcoming wedded union private, they will no doubt go all out for their traditional and white wedding ceremony.
Judging by both their flamboyant 40th birthday celebrations, the nuptials are bound to be a spectacular affair.
