Reimagining off-road with robotic agility

Kawasaki has galloped into a new era of personal mobility with the unveiling of CORLEO, a revolutionary robotic off-road vehicle. This horse-like machine is engineered to deliver the exhilarating experience of motorcycle riding across challenging natural landscapes. By seamlessly integrating Kawasaki’s renowned motorcycle DNA with cutting-edge robotics, CORLEO, with its four independently articulating legs and sophisticated rider-monitoring systems, pioneers a novel form of outdoor adventure.

Designed to master demanding terrain, CORLEO’s unique legged locomotion system utilizes individual drive units in each limb, providing exceptional stability and absorbing shocks effectively. Its independently moving rear swing-arm legs work in concert with the front, ensuring a smooth, forward-facing ride even when traversing steps or uneven ground.

Powering this innovative vehicle is a compact 150cc hydrogen engine that generates the electricity to drive its robotic legs. The hydrogen fuel, stored in a rear-mounted canister, offers an environmentally responsible energy source without sacrificing performance. Each hoof-like foot is equipped with high-grip, rubber-based pads, ensuring secure traction on diverse surfaces, from rocky trails to open grasslands.

Rider control is remarkably intuitive, responding to weight shifts and handlebar input, while adjustable stirrups promote a comfortable and natural riding position. A state-of-the-art instrument panel offers real-time information, including hydrogen levels, navigation, and center of gravity data. For nighttime excursions, the system can project path markers onto the ground ahead, significantly improving visibility and safety.
