A late try saw Affies stalemate Paarl Gimnasium while Oakdale rallied to edge Paarl Boys’ High on a Saturday of exceptional schoolboy rugby.
On a wet JA Kriel field in Paarl, hosts Paarl Gim were held to a 16-16 draw by a determined Affies side that scored a converted try in injury time after camping on the Gim line. In an attritional battle, Affies took a 9-6 lead into the break, before Gim rallied to score tries in what looked like a comeback victory.

Staying in the Cape Winelands, Paul Roos overpowered Grey High 37-7 in Stellenbosch, with their big pack laying the foundation for wing and Man of the Match Jordan Steenkamp to score a hat-trick.
