  • The Nike CryoShot “Nigeria” by Slawn features an all-over graffiti-inspired pattern on the modified soccer cleat silhouette with encased studs.
  • The pair marks Slawn’s second Nike collaboration following his Air Max 90 debut and represents Nigeria in the brand’s World Cup collection.
  • The shoe releases alongside matching Team Nigeria apparel as part of a global artist series including Drake, Virgil Abloh, and Palace.

Nike is finally starting to ramp up their announcements for the World Cup, after months of leaks and teases. This week, we got full editorial campaigns for the CryoShot series, with artists, designers, and musicians tapping in to dress the shoe for their home nation, like Slawn representing Team Nigeria.

The Nike CryoShot silhouette has been in the works for over a year now. The modified soccer cleats first emerged last Summer, when Nike teased two pair of retro boots trapped in a block of ice. At the time, we assumed this was a response to the #bootsonly TikTok trend, in which fashionable users were living their everyday lives in cleats. The response, we assumed, was to incase the cleats in a block of clear resin or rubber, giving the shoes a full sole to walk on while still showcasing the studs underfoot. Turns out Nike was just way early with their tease for this year’s World Cup tournament, and the rollout of the CryoShot is now officially underway.

Nike still has plans to release those two pairs that were teased in 2025, but they also have a more expansive project in the works. Teaming up with some of their collaborative partners from around the world, each team represented by Nike will get a CryoShot release from an artist, musician, or designer from their home country. Drake & his NOCTA label are representing Team Canada, G-Dragon’s PeaceMinusOne will present the South Korea pair, Virgil Abloh for Team USA, Patta for the Netherlands, Jacquemus for France, Palace for England, and finally, Slawn for Nigeria. This drop is the first follow-up to Slawn’s Nike debut last year with the Air Max 90, and brings his graffiti-like part to the CryoShot with an all over pattern. The shoes have surfaced this week in a first-look editorial campaign, also showing off a range of apparel for Team Nigeria.

Nike has yet to announce a release timeline for their series of CryoShot releases to tie into the World Cup, but the project is expected to launch in June 2026, parallel to the start of the tournament. The latest unveiling showcases artist & designer Slawn, representing Team Nigeria with a graffiti-covered pair of the boot-turned-sneaker.
