The Core 2 Duo, priced at $149 and shipping in July, is a modern take on the Pebble 2. Featuring the same e-paper display and frame as its predecessor, it benefits from technological advancements, boasting a 30+ day battery life and a new speaker for AI interactions. Migicovsky emphasizes that this is a revival of an 8-year-old device, catering to developers and hardcore fans. Approximately 10,000 units will be available.
Following in December, the Core Time 2 ($225) updates the Pebble Time 2 design with a touchscreen, enabling interactive watch face complications. Migicovsky aims to simplify navigation without introducing complex multitouch functionality.
The Core Time 2 retains classic Pebble features, including side buttons, extended battery life (30 days), a speaker, and enhanced step and sleep tracking.
Migicovsky notes that development, particularly for the Core 2 Duo, has progressed faster than anticipated. However, challenges remain, especially with iPhone connectivity, which has become increasingly complex. Android connectivity is smoother.

Manufacturing and software integration hurdles could lead to potential delays. Migicovsky also acknowledges the impact of tariffs, stating that any increased costs will be passed on to customers.
Despite these challenges, Migicovsky is enthusiastic about reviving the Pebble experience. “I’m not building a company to sell millions of these,” he says. “The goal is to make something I really want.”
