Dozens Killed in Al-Qaeda-Linked Attacks in Central Mali

Bamako – Security sources reported that approximately 50 people, including civilians and members of government-aligned self-defense forces, were killed following bloody attacks by Al-Qaeda-linked insurgents on two villages in central Mali. The attacks targeted areas experiencing escalating security tensions in recent months, driven by the increased activity of armed groups affiliated with Al-Qaeda and ISIS across the Sahel region.

According to sources, the militants carried out simultaneous raids using heavy and light weaponry, resulting in high casualty rates and spreading panic among local residents. The assaults targeted self-defense forces that support the Malian army in its fight against armed groups.
