Tanzania is actively pursuing strategies to enhance entrepreneurial opportunities by implementing various policies and programs aimed at equipping citizens to adapt to the ‘ job market ‘and increase their income.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the government has allocated 44.7 billion shillings for the establishment of vocational schools across all regions, enabling Tanzanians to access specialized training that will facilitate self-employment or employment of others, ultimately leading to economic empowerment.
“Our goal is to expand and improve the learning and teaching environment while providing education that is skill-based and practical, meeting the demands of the job market,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, he noted that the Prime Minister’s Office has organized vocational training for youth in need across various fields by placing them in institutions, including private colleges, to enhance their skills in areas that can increase their income.
“In education, we have made policy improvements and recognized that many young people have completed various levels of education, and it is our responsibility to seek opportunities for their development, including their talents. ” he said.
“We decided to conduct research to understand how we can collectively address the employment challenge,” he added.
Following research on improving youth employment, which involved significant input from the youth themselves, many suggested focusing on vocational training by establishing specialized programs at different levels is a best solution designed to increase innovation and employment to young entrepreneurs .
That is why the government is developing a robust system that will enable young people to leverage their creativity to generate income during this digital era .
