The One Acre Fund Nigeria has concluded arrangement to deliver 9,000 tonnes of critical agricultural inputs on credit to 88,000 smallholder farmers in Niger state.

The Communications Lead for One Acre Fund Nigeria, Kazi Nanyah, stated this on Wednesday in a statement in Minna.

He described the gesture as a major pre-planting initiative directed at addressing credit and distribution barriers to boost national food security.

He explained that farmers in the programme often nearly double their maize yields and see an average income increase of $328 per household per season.

According to him, “Distribution of the agricultural inputs is currently underway and scheduled to be completed by May 31, 2026. One Acre Fund Nigeria, is committed to supporting smallholder farmers in having access to efficient distribution of agricultural inputs”.

He said, “The phased distribution is with women and youth representing over 35% of participating farmers ahead of the planting season to address persistent barriers of limited credit access”.
